What are the risks associated with eosinophil-rich samples?

Answer:
Eosinophils contain high levels of RNases, which can lead to rapid RNA degradation upon cell lysis.

Samples enriched in eosinophils may therefore exhibit reduced RNA quality and compromised sequencing performance. In addition, high RNase activity may negatively affect applications such as V(D)J enrichment.

The use of RNase inhibitors is recommended during sample processing, and potential risks should be communicated in advance when working with such samples.
