Does scMLPSeq support human, mouse, or other species?

Answer:
The current scMLPSeq probe panels are designed and validated only for human samples. Non-human species are currently not recommended.

scMLPSeq is a targeted assay based on probe hybridization and ligation-extension chemistry. Assay performance is highly dependent on accurate target sequence matching, probe hybridization specificity and panel design coverage. Existing panels were designed and validated using human transcript references.

For non-human species, even homologous genes may contain sequence differences, transcript structure variations and alternative splicing differences. These factors may substantially reduce probe hybridization efficiency or lead to target detection failure.

Therefore, scMLPSeq is currently not recommended for non-human species.
